Labor Day is approaching and school buses busy the roads as kids return to school.  

The Cheers N Paint art studio just wrapped up our fourth year of summer art camp.  The summer was a success!  About 200 campers attended this year, many for more than one week.  We are proud to say that over 60% of our campers were either referred by a friend or have returned from previous years.  A few have even come to all four years!  

At Cheers N Paint, our summer art camp provides a fun and creative environment for kids to express their artistic abilities and grow creatively.

“Our daughter has been coming to Cheers N Paint summer camp in Cary for four summers now.  It is her favorite camp by far.  She loves all of the art projects, especially the tie-dye and paint on canvases.  She has made so many friends at camp and they remember her each year, which is awesome and makes her feel at home.  She is already looking forward to next summer and coming to the Harry Potter-themed week.”

 We are a family business and like to treat our customers and staff like family.  We are pleased that not only do our campers come back year after year but many of our summer counselors return to work at art camp too.  Each week there were reunions between campers and counselors, glad to see each other.  

Many of our counselors are back to college now, and we wish them a successful year. One counselor, who started working for us four years ago, has graduated and is looking for full-time employment. She loves art and continues at the studio teaching some of our kids’ art classes. We even had a former camper who enjoyed art camp so much she asked to work this year for a few weeks as a junior counselor.

 

Summer Art Camp Themes

Our weekly camp themes, even repeated themes, continue to appeal to campers.  A few themes seem to be favorites this year and included “Wizarding World”, “Art and Science”, “This is my Paint Era” and “Kicking off the Olympics”.  (Spoiler alert look for a “Paint Era” special class coming this fall!)

Each year we add new projects, paintings and crafts.  Some of our favorite themes like “It’s a Small World” and “Under the Sea” have been offered for several years.  One of the newest additions to our camp day this year were formal sketching sessions.  The kids really enjoyed learning to draw.

Cheers N Paint offers painting and sketching classes for kids throughout the year.  Discount memberships are available as we try and offer affordable options for families.  FYI, Lauren, our Operations Manager and lead artist, began painting at a class similar to our “Little Splatters” program when she was in elementary school.  That hobby is now her career!

It’s been our goal to foster an environment of creativity and fun for kids to explore their artistic talents, have fun and make new friends at camp.  Seeing so many return customers and counselors makes us feel that we’ve achieved that goal.  And at a time when so many are dependent on “screens” for entertainment, it is refreshing to see campers enjoy the creative process and play time!
