2025 Summer Art Camp in Cary, NC | Local Art Classes for Youth at Cheers N Paint

Spring is here, and with it comes thoughts of shaking off the winter doldrums and preparing for summer. If you’re searching for art summer camps near me or fun, creative ways to keep your kids engaged, Cheers N Paint’s Summer Art Camp in the Cary/Raleigh area is the perfect solution. We offer creative, screen-free local art classes for youth, where we explore fun themes, build friendships, and make art (and memories!). Our Summer Art Camps are an opportunity to create, grow and explore.

Why Choose a Summer Art Camp for Your Child?

In the spring, the warming weather invites us to enjoy weekends with outdoor activities; attend a baseball, soccer, or lacrosse game, watch your children compete in track and field events. Take a hike or go to a local fair.  It is a great time to be outdoors, but it also signals the looming end of another school year and the start of summer.

When summer arrives, unless you’re taking time off from work, you will need a plan for your school-age children.  Summer means a lot of time without the daily structure of school.

Not every week can be spent with the kids at a lake or pool since most of us have limited vacation time. You can’t leave them home alone, so you need a plan. At Cheers N Paint, we have been planning for summer since early December.  Our fifth year of summer camps have nine weeks scheduled (we close for our family vacation the week of 4th of July).

What Makes Our Summer Art Camp in Cary Unique?

At Cheers N Paint, we think the summer is a perfect time to let your kids expand their horizons. For the past four years, we have been running summer art camps designed to expand a child’s imagination, develop creativity, and explore their potential.

Creative Screen-Free Zones

Keeping kids busy but away from “screens” can be a challenge. Our camps are a screen-free zone with the only exception being a lunchtime video or online group games on our oversized television.

Weekly Themes and Connections

Our summer camps are built around art, but kids gain a whole lot more. Every week is an exploration of a unique theme, a time to develop friendships, build confidence, and make dreams a reality. In addition to a daily canvas to paint, every week includes DIY crafts, team building events, a long term project, and then there is always “Friday tie dye.”

Local Art Classes for Youth That Build More Than Art Skills

While an art camp may seem like a unique choice, the typical day offers campers a blend of instructed art along with opportunities to use their creativity with the activities they most enjoy. We realize many art programs in traditional schools have been cut or scaled back. Color theory, composition, form, brushwork, perspective, drawing, light and dark highlighting, and proportion are all concepts we introduce at our camp. These are basic art skills, but understanding these skills opens a whole new world for many of our campers.  Guidelines and individual instruction is provided by our artists, but individual creativity is encouraged. Again, no screen time here, as we believe kids are most creative when they use their imagination.

Summer Art Camp Lessons

“Lessons” are often buried in our weekly individual and team projects. For instance, how to repurpose recyclables into art. At one camp focused on Super Heros, a camper built a Bat Cave with a working elevator. At another camp, we built birdhouses from corks and other recyclables or created a diorama of the summer Olympic games.  After spending a full year learning subjects like math, science, and language arts, our camps encourage kids to connect these “hard” skills with their creative side, focusing on how to take what they have learned to make something amazing.

Being a kid is also encouraged, so campers play games, learn to work and play with others, and gain experience working independently in a judgement-free environment.  Ages of our campers, both boys and girls, range from age 6 to teenage years. For many of our older campers, this will be their 4th or 5th year at our camps.

Each week centers around a theme.  Some of our most popular will repeat this year like; This is my Paint Era, Animal Adventures, Art and Science.  We’ve added a few new themes too; Creative Mode Loading, Wizarding World and Brighten Up.  We like to think there is something for everyone.

Looking for Art Summer Camps Near Me?

A wide variety of summer camp ads are popping up on social media and in neighborhood magazine publications.  Town recreation departments offer options too. All of these camps, including Cheers N Paint, fill up quickly.

Once your child has attended a Cheers N Paint Summer Art Camp, unless you opt out, you will receive our newsletter every year. We do this because over 85% of our campers are returning or the result of a recommendation from a friend.  Among other things, our newsletter will announce the summer camp schedule. In fact, families are planning for summer camps earlier and earlier.

To meet the market, Cheers N Paint began planning for the 2025 Summer Art Camp programs in early December, 2024.  We were able to publish our camp schedule before Christmas and offered discounted Black Friday pricing. We ran a second discount with 2024 pricing for the entire month of January, and as a result, over 35% of our seats are already reserved.

Not only did many of these campers save by signing up early, they also have a guaranteed spot for the week(s) of their choice. You see our themes are diverse, so early enrollment locks in the theme in which kids were most interested.  The rate of enrollment in 2025 is much higher than in prior years, while all our weeks still have seats, some camps will soon be sold out. Whether you’re in Cary or searching for an art camp Raleigh families love, we would be thrilled to welcome you! 2025 will be the fifth year for Cheers N Paint Summer Art Camps. We are proud to say that once again, almost 85% of the campers currently enrolled for this summer are either returning campers or were referred by a friend who attended camp in the past.  Many, about 25%, come with siblings.  We see this as a vote of confidence meaning “we must be doing something right!” Clearly, our customers are our best advertising and our discounts for multiple weeks and siblings are attractive.

Good news for parents too!  We are a family-owned and operated studio and understand that cost is a factor.  We offer discounts for siblings and second-week sign-ups.  Camp costs may also be FSA eligible allowing you to use dependent care funds.
